Hailey Henderson loves to work and she loves people. The Theatre is sacred to her. She is powered by making art, drinking coffee and finding new and innovative ways to include sunflowers in her research as a performer and teacher.

She grew up in the magical red rock canyon country of Moab, Utah. Two park rangers raised her, so her love for performing began with howling at the moon and storytelling around the campfire. With a bit of red dirt ground into her small-town soul, she left Moab to study theater in the screaming metropolis of Salt Lake City, where she earned her BFA in Performing Arts at Westminster College. After graduating she toured with Salt Lake City’s Classical Greek Theatre Festival for two seasons and later moved to Oregon where she worked for over five different theatre companies. In 2017, she moved to Seattle to attend the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of Washington, where she earned her MFA in Acting. Hailey has performed professionally with theatres in Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Salt Lake City, Denver and Buenos Aires. She loves devising her own work and feels deeply passionate about spreading empathy through storytelling.

Her one-woman show entitled, Blackout debuted on the back porch at Henderson’s home in Seattle during the summer of 2021. This performance kicked off a sixteen show West Coast tour of porches and theaters in six cities. In 2022, the show began touring university and college stages, where its unflinching dramatization of relationship violence, identity formation, and resilience inspired students to take the risk of speaking their truth.

In Spring of 2023, Blackout won the award for “Best Drama” at the United Solo Festival at Theatre Row in New York City.
